We are seeking a driven and analytical Finance & Investment Analyst to join our growing team. This cross-functional role is vital to both our Credit Portfolio and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) workstreams.
We are seeking a dynamic and analytical data and finance professional to manage PBP’s finance portfolio and lead monitoring, evaluation and data insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, due diligence, data collection and analytics. As the Finance and Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and assessing risk, conducting thorough due diligence, managing the credit portfolio for Kenya, including collection, overseeing/managing monitoring, evaluating and generating data insights to continuously assess the success and efficiency of the project
RESPONSIBILITIES
CREDIT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
- Portfolio Management: Manage the credit portfolio, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives and risk parameters
Risk Assessment: Analyze financial data to evaluate and mitigate risk factors associated with credit opportunities
Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence of credit opportunities, utilizing desktop research, on-site visits, and innovative approaches
Product Innovation & Strategy: Provide analytics support as PBP expands its financial offerings, helping design products that are data-informed and risk-mitigated
Work closely with the finance and impact teams to lead the preparation of integrated reports that combine financial performance with impact measurement and learning outcomes
ANALYTICS, MONITORING & EVALUATION
Design and manage systems for effective and accurate data collection across programs and partners.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to generate actionable insights for program design, product development, and reporting.
Collaborate with the MEL team to align indicators with PBP’s impact strategy and build reporting frameworks.
Develop live dashboards (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI) to share insights with internal teams, leadership, and donors.
Continuously identify and implement automation to improve data workflows, analysis speed, and efficiency.
Synthesize learnings from internal meetings and partner engagements to support cross-departmental decision-making
Ensure timely and accurate MEL reporting to internal and external partners, including programme implementers and key stakeholders.
Visualize data and prepare presentation decks highlighting insights for stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 4 years of work experience
At least 2 years of prior experience in due diligence/data analytics/financial analysis/credit assessment roles
Strong commercial and financial analysis skills and business judgment to evaluate credit opportunities effectively
Solid understanding of accounting concepts to interpret financial statements and assess financial health
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple streams of data and turn them into meaningful insights
Experience with MEL frameworks, data collection methodologies, and impact measurement systems
Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and at least one data visualization platform (Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, etc.).
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and superb presentation skills with the ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for process and system improvement
Working Hours as a Global Citizen at PBP!
We’re a global company with team members in Canada, Kenya, India, the USA, Türkiye, Mexico, UK, South Africa, and Colombia. You will be working with teams across multiple time zones so we expect you to work within your standard time zone working hours, but be available from time to time for team meetings that may fall outside of your regular working hours.
