Business Development Representative

Our innovative tech and financial solutions enable independent brands to easily upload and manufacture their wares, while allowing retail buyers to seamlessly and confidently purchase them.
THE ROLE
As a Business Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in driving our growth by identifying, qualifying, and connecting with potential retail clients. You’ll be responsible for generating new leads, engaging prospects, and building interest in Powered by People’s offerings, working closely with our demand gen and sales team to qualify leads that will convert into successful partnerships.
This is an ideal role for someone who is results-driven, passionate about scaling eCommerce with a global sustainability lens, and eager to kick-start their career in sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Outreach & Engagement
Reach out to prospects via phone, email, social media, and networking to build initial relationships and create interest in Powered by People.
Prospect & Qualify Leads
Conduct research and identify potential retail partners.
Lead Nurturing
Nurture leads by delivering relevant content and value propositions, while keeping detailed records of interactions in our CRM system.
Book & Participate in Meetings
Schedule and confirm meetings between qualified leads and sales reps.
Collaborate with Demand Gen & Sales Team
Work closely with the demand gen lead and sales team to improve lead quality and provide insights from initial interactions with prospects.
Market Feedback
Provide feedback on outreach effectiveness and customer needs to help refine our value proposition, segmentation criteria, and sales strategy.
Sales Reporting
Track and report on sales activities and results and provide regular updates to the sales manager on progress and challenges.
Collaboration:
Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and merchandising to align sales efforts with promotional campaigns.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve lead generation processes and strategies.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience in sales or customer service role is a plus.
Interest and knowledge of the digital commerce landscape, including dropship.
Strong communication skills: clear and persuasive verbal and written communication
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Goal-oriented & self-motivated: ability to meet targets, handle rejection professionally, maintain a positive attitude, and be proactive.
Tech savvy: comfortable using CRM tools (i.e. Hubspot), Google Drive, Slack, and sales and marketing automation platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly motivated and results-driven.
Working Hours as a Global Citizen at PBP!
We’re a global company with team members in Canada, Kenya, India, the USA, Türkiye, Mexico, UK, South Africa, and Colombia. You will be working with teams across multiple time zones so we expect you to work within your standard time zone working hours, but be available from time to time for team meetings that may fall outside of your regular working hours.
