ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Powered by People, you will be pivotal in shaping & implementing the company's strategic direction and driving operational excellence across all internal and external operational functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be positioned as a strategic partner and an executive-level subject matter expert who will keep company stakeholders aligned, accountable, and connected to growth outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track revenue performance and identify areas for improvement.
Analyze sales and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for revenue growth.
Promote and inspire a growth-focused mindset through coaching, mentorship and strategic roadmaps.
- Workflow Accountability
Work in partnership with the CEO to oversee and ensure efforts across the company are aligned with business goals
Build Go to Market and implementation plans with key partnerships, and align on shared success metrics
Act as a resource to help develop and facilitate actionable plans that are aligned to business goals and KPIs
- Partner Relationship Management
Establish and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
Support CEO with quarterly board reporting and investor relationship management
Lead the sourcing and procurement of vendors, suppliers and talent as required
- Operational Efficiency
Assess current operational processes and implement best practices and technologies to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and boost productivity and scalability
Continuously evaluate and improve operational performance metrics.
- Forecasting & Planning:
Develop comprehensive forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.
Analyze market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive landscape to inform business strategies.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align operational plans with overall business objectives.
Develop strategies and financial models that will enable improved forecasting and financial management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and customer support, to align operational activities with business goals.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to drive cohesive execution of company initiatives.
Champion a growth-centric approach to operations, ensuring that the needs and preferences of our customers and market insights are central to decision-making processes.
ABOUT YOU
A consulting or IB background is preferred
Experience as a Financial, Operational or Growth leader in the sectors of Marketplaces, Retail, Social Commerce, and/or Fintech
International experience operating across various geographies and understanding the regional nuances connected to different markets
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
Comfortability with leading strategy and developing and executing plans
Deep understanding of the different business models and monetization strategies with the ability to clearly understand and define the different levers of the business

Working Hours as a Global Citizen at PBP!
We’re a global company with team members in Canada, Kenya, India, the USA, Türkiye, Mexico, UK, South Africa, and Colombia. You will be working with teams across multiple time zones so we expect you to work within your standard time zone working hours, but be available from time to time for team meetings that may fall outside of your regular working hours.
